Buyers of recreational property know that while it’s important to have things to do on your property, it’s also valuable to have great recreational opportunities nearby.
PotlatchDeltic is fortunate to sell recreational properties in some of the best outdoor states in the country, and that was reflected in a recent study by the MightyGoods.com website, which ranked all the nation’s states in the quality of their outdoors.
One state where PotlatchDeltic sells recreational properties made the top 10: Idaho was No. 3, behind No. 1 Wyoming and No. 2 Montana, and ahead of No. 4 Alaska and No. 5 North Dakota.
Idaho features a wealth of ways to enjoy the outdoors, from snow skiing, to hunting for deer and elk, to getting out on the state’s rivers to go rafting or fly fishing, just to name a few.
Here’s where PotlatchDeltic’s other recreational property states finished in the rankings: Arkansas was 18th, Minnesota was 20th, Mississippi was 29th, Alabama was 34th, and Louisiana was 43rd.
The ranking was done by using a number of measures that reflected the quality of the outdoors, along with how many residents experience the outdoors. The measures:
- acreage of protected areas;
- number of campgrounds, trails, bike shops, outdoor jobs, and running clubs per 10,000 people;
- consumer spending on outdoor recreation;
- air pollution;
- outdoor participation rate among the population; and
- physical inactivity rate.
